The Legacy K65e LTD 12-String Jumbo and Custom Legacy K10 LTD Dreadnought Are Each Limited to 52 Guitars, Honoring Taylor's 52nd Year
EL CAJON, Calif., Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Taylor Guitars, the leading global builder of premium acoustic guitars, today announced the release of two limited-edition Hawaiian koa models in its Legacy Collection: the Legacy K65e LTD and the Custom Legacy K10 LTD. Marking the first time Taylor's Koa Series has been represented in the Legacy Collection, the pair showcases beautifully figured Hawaiian koa in two distinctive forms, an all-koa 12-string Jumbo and a 6-string Dreadnought crafted with a deeper, tapered body profile and a premium Engelmann spruce top.
"Koa has been part of the Taylor story for a long time, and bringing it into the Legacy Collection felt like a natural fit," said Taylor Chief Guitar Designer, President and CEO Andy Powers. "One of these guitars looks back to the 12-strings that helped put Taylor on the map, and the other takes a fresh look at the Dreadnought. Both are a celebration of what this wood can do."
KOA JOINS THE LEGACY COLLECTION
Originally launched in 2024 to celebrate Taylor's 50th anniversary, the Legacy Collection honors Taylor's heritage with select guitars inspired by Bob Taylor's classic builds and voiced with versions of Bob's X-bracing. The two new koa models carry that lineage forward: one revisits the Jumbo 12-string that helped establish Taylor five decades ago, while the other reimagines the classic Dreadnought with a revoiced, scalloped open X-bracing pattern.
Each model will be built in extremely limited quantities, 52 guitars each, honoring Taylor's 52nd year, and will feature Legacy back labels hand-signed by co-founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug.
NEW LEGACY KOA LIMITED-EDITION MODELS
LEGACY K65E LTD (12-STRING; HAWAIIAN KOA)
The supremely easy-playing feel of Bob's early 12-string guitars helped establish Taylor five decades ago, and the Legacy K65e LTD honors that heritage in all-koa form. The voluptuous non-cutaway Jumbo features back, sides and top of gorgeously figured Hawaiian koa, voiced with Bob's nuanced version of X-bracing. Players can expect an exceptionally full, shimmering blend of midrange richness and complex octave texture, with impressive dynamic range and a remarkably responsive feel, and a voice that will continue to develop a sweeter, warmer character with age and extended play.

CUSTOM LEGACY K10 LTD (HAWAIIAN KOA/ENGELMANN SPRUCE)

A-grade figured Hawaiian koa selected for rich variegation is paired with a premium Engelmann spruce top, producing an impressive midrange character accented by koa's distinctive top-end sparkle. Inside, a flat scalloped, more open X-bracing configuration allows greater movement in the lower bout, adding warmth and low-end depth.
