FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., June 8, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Amerisure Companies is pleased to announce the election of Tayo Akins and Kouhaila (Ki) Hammer to the board of directors of Amerisure Mutual Holdings, Inc. and the Amerisure Companies.

Tayo Akins is president and chief executive officer of Cascade Comprehensive Care and Cascade Health Alliance. In this role, Akins collaborates with the company's board of directors to develop and drive strategic development, growth, and operational excellence. During his tenure he has created and managed a robust healthcare project fund to improve the transformation of care and quality outcome of health. Previously, Akins served as director of corporate development and market entry leader at AmeriHealth Caritas, where he led sourcing and evaluated acquisitions and partnerships, championed financial and strategic rationale and served as a key resource to the executive team in analyzing, understanding, and decision-making on long-term growth options.
Akins earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford University. He serves on the private board of directors for Atrio Health Plans, a private equity-backed Medicare subsidiary of Cascade Comprehensive Care.
Ki Hammer is president and chief executive officer at Ghafari Associates, a global architecture, engineering, and consulting firm. In this role, she has advanced a diversification strategy to weather economic recessions and enabled the company to experience steady growth. She has also led the company to serve new industries and global markets, and broaden its breadth of experience. Hammer has an accounting background and began her career in the audit division of a public accounting firm, where she advanced to the senior management level. She joined Ghafari Associates as chief financial officer in 1986 and has served in her current role since 2000.
Hammer earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Michigan State University. She is treasurer of the Rackham Foundation and served as president of the Engineering Society of Detroit. She serves on the board of directors of The Henry Ford, as well as the Detroit Regional Chamber board, executive, and governance committees. She is a member of the Detroit Economic Club and International Women's Forum. In 2019, she was inducted into the Engineering Society of Detroit's College of Fellows.
