Yellowfin General Manager for North America, Justin Wright, said that the theme of the event – Advancing all things data, which focuses on rapidly changing technology as well as data types and use cases – was particularly timely.
“Yellowfin is pleased to be sponsoring TDWI’s Las Vegas conference again in 2015 and, by doing so, helping them to deliver a rich educational forum,” said Wright. “This year’s event explores the rapidly changing ways in which industries are looking to apply reporting and analytics, the shifting types of data they want to exploit, and the new technologies required to deliver on these new ambitious goals.”
Keynote speaker for TDWI Las Vegas 2015 – and President of BI consulting firm, Third Nature – Mark Madsen, will encapsulate this idea of rapid industry change and the need for equally rapid innovation in his presentation, Everything Has Changed Except Us: An Architecture for the Age of Data Analytics.
“The way we make decisions has changed,” said Madsen. “The data we use has changed. The techniques we can apply to data and decisions have changed. Yet what we build and how we build it has barely changed in 20 years. The definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting different results.
“In short, we need new architecture that is not focused on creating stability in data, but instead is adaptable to continuous and rapidly changing uses of data.”
The agenda for TDWI’s Las Vegas conference comprises 80 presentations – including keynote sessions delivered by Madsen and renowned industry thought leader, Tom Davenport. The event encompasses six streams focusing on “BI Essentials”, “Business Analytics”, “Data Analysis and Design”, “Data Asset Management”, “Building Analytics Talent” and “Leadership and Management”.
