HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- For over 18 years, Teacher Created Materials, a leading preK–12 educational publisher located in Huntington Beach, California, has participated in events that raise funds for breast cancer research.
True to their core value of fun and celebration, TCM chose to raise awareness within their staff on October 1 through a name-inspired triathlon: T—trivia, C—corn hole, M—memory match. Departmental teams from across the company competed for bragging rights and a chance to win the sought-after Golden Apple company trophy.
As part of the day, Teacher Created Materials also made a $10 donation to cancer research for every staff member or customer nationwide who wore pink. Over 75% of internall employees participated both in the office and over social media, using the hashtag #TCMGivesBack. The funds raised were donated to The Hoag Foundation in Newport Beach, California.
"I am so proud of how our staff comes together to fight against breast cancer each year. There's always healthy competition, but it's clear that everyone appreciates the opportunity to support the larger cause," said Deanne Mendoza, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships.
The staff at TCM Triathlon for a Cure was a success, with the Marketing Department edging out victorious.
Throughout the entire month of October, Teacher Created Materials also donated 10% of the revenue from its website, with a total donation of $3,700 from all of the events throughout the month.
