We feel it’s an ethical responsibility to get as much of our insight back to those that need it and that’s why the Team Cymru CSIRT Assistance Program has been so hugely successful in terms of real, daily impact on human lives in over 85 countries.
ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB) September 01, 2020
Internet security and threat intelligence firm Team Cymru announced today a major milestone for its global CSIRT Assistance Program (CAP) community service. With the addition of the Swiss National CSIRT, Bangladesh National CSIRT and South African National CSIRT, the Team Cymru CAP has signed on a total number of 129 national and regional organizations and helps to protect over 85 countries.
Established nearly a decade ago as a trusted conduit for notifying countries of observed malicious Internet activity, the Team Cymru CAP works with national and regional CSIRTs (Computer Security Incident Response Teams) by sharing its world-class threat intelligence at no cost. Today the CAP has scaled to provide up to 20 million events to global CSIRTs every day, monitoring these nations’ IP space, which amounts to approximately 52 percent of IPV4 and 75 percent of IPV6 traffic.
"As a National CERT, CERT.br has a strong focus on making the Brazilian Internet ecosystem healthier. To this end we are always looking for partnerships with organizations that can provide data with assured quality, that can help us prioritize the most pressing issues, and the Team Cymru CSIRT Assistance Program is one of the leading sources,” said Cristine Hoepers, General Manager, CERT.br.
“We feel it’s an ethical responsibility to get as much of our insight back to those that need it and that’s why the Team Cymru CSIRT Assistance Program has been so hugely successful in terms of real, daily impact on human lives in over 85 countries,” said Steve Santorelli, Director of Intelligence and Outreach, Team Cymru. “This milestone indicates that our community can coalesce around these threats in a way that puts the greater good in front of corporate greed."
