Van Buren Intermediate School District (VBISD) in Lawrence, Mich. partnered with Tampa start-up, Script, to help eliminate paperwork and automate their school district. As a result, VBISD is working on the process of automating everyday manual tasks, saving time, money and the environment.

VBISD’s technology team is currently using Script’s drag and drop workflow builder to automate and replace manual paperwork, tasks and approvals, increasing productivity for themselves and the 11 school districts they support. While public education systems previously lacked expertise and funding to utilize these technologies, Script provides VBISD paperless automation solutions that keep costs down and contribute to environmental responsibility.

“This is something talked about on a state level, on a county level,” says Dan Grimm, district technology coordinator. “Everyone is asking for it, and it’s great that education is finally getting into the innovation workflow side.” By going paperless, VBISD will reduce clutter and the school’s carbon footprint, inspiring other districts to do the same.

These innovative technologies offer advancement for both education and Michigan locals. Data transfers and one-click approvals empower educators to focus on students, staff and additional innovations.
