Technica now offers Gas Cells, Athermal Fabry-Perot Etalons, and more Athermal FBGs
Technica now offers a complete portfolio of Optical Wavelength Calibration devices including H13C14N and C2H2 Gas Cells, Athermal Fabry-Perot Etalons at 25GHz, 50GHz, 100GHz, and 200GH, and a full suite of Athermal Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG).
ATLANTA, SINGAPORE, and BEIJING, Jan. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Optical wavelength referencing circuits are widely used in industry and in research and development laboratories. Often used together with other optical components, Gas Cells, Athermal Etalons and Athermal FBGs are enabling technologies for the continuous calibration of a growing range of picometer and sub-picometer level absolute measurement systems.
The company's first product release in this category of devices was its TWR50 Wavelength Reference consisting of a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) encapsulated in a package that contains advanced materials effective at providing passive temperature compensation by matching the coefficient of temperature expansion (CTE) of the FBG's single mode (SM) fiber. Typically, when changes of temperature occur and the fiber FBG expands, the center wavelength of the FBG shifts as well. In the case of the TWR50 Athermal Packaged FBG, the compensation material bonded to and surrounding the FBG fiber shrinks proportionally to the expansion of the FBG fiber to yield a passively temperature compensated FBG device. The precision athermal packaging yields excellent wavelength stability over the customers' temperature range of interest, typically -10 to +60 Degrees Celsius. Proprietary and licensed technologies are used to ensure that each sensor has a stable optical core and a matching material composition and outer diameter for device protection that is well fit for the environment in which the device will be used.
Newly added to Technica's family of Optical Wavelength Calibraiton devices are the H13C14N (TWR10) and C2H2 (TWR20) Gas Cells which provide direct NIST calibration traceability for any instrument or lab setup that uses them. The Gas Cells are terminated with single mode fibers (SMF) and can be connectorized with any optical connectors that are standard in the industry or can be fusion spliced directly into the optical circuit.
Also newly added to the company's products line are the Athermal Fabry-Perot Etalon (TWR30) devices with standard Fee Spectral Ranges of 25GHz, 50GHz, 100GHz, and 200GHz and they exhibit world-leading stability properties that are well fit for most optical applications. The Athermal Etalons are also terminated with single mode fibers (SMF) and can be connectorized with any optical connectors that are standard in the industry or can be fusion spliced directly into the optical circuit.
All Optical Wavelength Calibration devices offered by Technica come with a certificate of calibration and/or detailed performance data.
"We offer a full suite of Optical Wavelength Calibration References to support the growth of the fiber optic industry and to increase the absolute precision and repeatability achievable by the instruments that test, monitor, or control optical systems. With thousands of devices already installed, these components have proven to perform well as part of a number of new generation wavelength referencing circuits embedded in our customers' test and measurement equipment for use in Security, Defense, Medical, Civil Engineering, Industrial, and Transportation Systems applications" stated Andrei Csipkes, President & CEO of Technica.
