WASHINGTON, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- HLP Integration is pleased to announce that Paul Gettmann has joined HLP Integration as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Paul works with HLP and Sentio stakeholders to align advanced analytics workflows with partner program strategies.
"Paul is a highly skilled technologist who balances a strong understanding of AI technology, product management and legal workflow integration," said Hy Hetherington, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of HLP Integration. "Paul's unique experience working for several software companies that have become standards in the legal industry makes him uniquely positioned to lead our Sentio efforts and advise clients, both law firms and corporations through the challenges of implementation and execution of Advanced Technology Assisted Review. With the significant AI noise in the legal market and the challenges clients face identifying differentiators between products in the market, Paul will leverage his experience to ensure clients get the most out of incorporating Sentio into their workflow."
Sentio Software (http://www.sentiosoft.com) is a next-generation analytics solution that leverages technology assisted review via "Real Time" machine learning capabilities. Sentio expedites the commencement of the review process, along with a suite of attorney audit and tracking tools specifically developed to track review accuracy and performance. Sentio Software uses a modified Continuous Active Learning approach which let users train the software by tagging a small portion of the data and from that, the tool brings up related documents to train the model. Analogous to a music streaming service "choosing" which songs a user will enjoy based on previous song selections, Sentio Software uses selections provided by users to continuously train a ranking algorithm that orders the documents from most to least likely to be relevant in real-time. Once the model is trained, the remaining documents are organized in to their predicted results. Using Sentio, we have seen lawyers algorithmically eliminate the need for human review of large percentages of a collection—often as much as 90%. The economic impact of this reduction in time, number of document needing review and efficiencies created utilizing Sentio for the corporate client has been significant. The added benefit of allowing outside counsel to perform more substantive legal analysis earlier in the process including a more detailed understanding of the risk at nearly the inception of the matter makes Sentio not only an economic benefit but a strategic one as well.
Before joining HLP Integration, Paul has spent more than 20 years in eDiscovery and machine learning consulting numerous companies in information management in legal, finance, intelligence, and life sciences verticals. At past companies LexisNexis, ZyLAB, Content Analyst, and ayfie Group, Paul has worked with the AmLaw 100 and Fortune 500 to bring measurable return on investment to their information retrieval workflows.
Paul received his M.S. in the Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and holds Data Science and AI-specific certificates from MIT's Sloan School and Johns Hopkins University.
