Technology Analyst Jeff Kagan on Adobe Creative Cloud Success
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) December 14, 2013 -- Adobe Systems Inc, makes both Acrobat software and Photoshop and reported a 22 percent increase in subscribers to its Creative Cloud services, according to Reuters, Dec 12.
Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
“Congratulations to Adobe on hitting it out of the park with their Creative Cloud.” Says Kagan.” Says Tech analyst Jeff Kagan.
“My prediction is that 2014 is the year the Cloud will go mainstream. The Cloud has been discussed for many years. In fact we have been using Cloud type services for many years. Large businesses have been using Cloud services for a long time already. However the smaller and mid size business market and the entire consumer market has not played in this space, until now.” Says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.
“Adobe is hitting the ball out of the park with their Creative Cloud. During this fourth quarter, Adobe added 402,000 subscribers for their Creative Cloud, which includes access to their popular Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash software. This let’s users not only store their information on the Adobe cloud, but also have access to an always updated suite of software as well.” Says analyst Kagan.
“Investors seem to be very happy with this performance. As long as Adobe keeps new cloud customers coming in the front door, this will likely continue, even though profit is not great yet. This is the early, building period every new industry segment goes through.” Says Kagan.
“Adobe is changing their model. They are moving toward a web subscription service called the Creative Cloud and away from customers buying actual software.” Says Kagan.
“The cloud is a solid business idea. It creates a sticky customer. And as long as the company can meet the needs, they will continue to grow. So I think the cloud is a solid move that we will see develop among a variety of companies. In these early years we will use a variety of clouds. Then as the clouds get smarter and can do more, we will choose one and give up the others. This is a process that will unfold over the next several years.” Says Kagan.
