Technology does not sell itself; But the equateXY platform makes it happen

equateXY platform now spans 500+ SaaS product categories and spawns customer leads in 20+ countries in US, Europe and APAC.

John Miller (name changed) graduated from Stanford University last year, and he has been working on a SaaS product idea for a couple of years. He believes he is ready with a beta version of his product, and he expects to start earning $5,000-$10,000 per month from subscription fees in the next few months. The business idea is good, the features are well designed and the product is skilfully engineered. However, there is a problem with his business plan, and there is a fair chance he would not be able to realize his revenue goals.

John is not alone. Most of the high-tech entrepreneurs think the product or technology will sell itself.

But this is fantasy! Is it really? Let us see.

Businesses depend for their survival on sales and revenue. Most of the young startup founders lack an awareness of the importance of the sales ecosystem.

Instead much of the focus goes into great marketing – creating a great story, as well as an ability to spread that story across media outlets. But sales is not the same as marketing. And entrepreneurs and start-ups that lack necessary sales understanding may organize lots of events, make lots of documents – but end up educating their clients rather than selling to them.

Let’s go back to the thought of “entrepreneurs think technology will sell itself” and “this is a fantasy”.

Can this fantasy come true? Well it could, if customers are made aware of upcoming technologies and products, and if such customers could express their purchase interest to the entrepreneurs.
