Techweek Expanding to Kansas City in September 2015
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) January 12, 2015 -- Techweek, the nation’s leading technology conference and festival showcasing and enabling innovation ecosystems, today announced the addition of Kansas City to its roster. The inaugural Techweek Kansas City will take place September 14 – 20, 2015 and is presented in partnership with Launch KC. The event’s core conference, expo and startup competition will take place on Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18.
Kansas City has been home to rapidly growing technology community bursting with new startup activity and venture capital investment. Techweek’s expansion to Kansas City will enhance the local technology and entrepreneurial landscape by bringing influential tech companies and leaders, startups, and investors together for the open exchange of ideas and conversation.
With events in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Miami, Techweek plans to bring its signature approach to celebrating unique innovation ecosystems and high-energy format to the booming local tech community. The first annual Techweek Kansas City event will feature:
- High-Profile Speakers: Influential leaders and influencers in technology will cover topics including innovation, entrepreneurship, trends, and more as it relates to both the Kansas City technology community and beyond. There will also be a number of exciting panels on topics that include social innovation and impact, big data, green technology, fashion, sharing economies, and more. - Startup LAUNCH Competition – In partnership with Launch KC and the Grants Competition, the Startup LAUNCH Competition will feature Kansas City’s most promising young entrepreneurs who will compete for $50,000 in non-dilutive grants. Each participating startup will pitch its business to attendees and judges. A panel of top investors and CEOs will ultimately decide the winners.
- Hiring Fair: Whether searching for a new, exciting role or looking to bring an idea to fruition, the Hiring Fair is all about matching talented candidates with the right jobs. The Hiring Fair will bring some of the best companies in technology, ranging from startups to well-established brands together with highly qualified job seekers. Attendees who bring a resume will also be granted complimentary access to the Hiring Fair.
- Hackathon: The Techweek Kansas City Hackathon will be a one-day marathon filled with innovation and development. Talented developers, designers, and entrepreneurs will participate in an all-day frenzy of fun, camaraderie, and coding.
- FashionTECH Runway Show: The latest in wearables and e-commerce will bring the intersection of technology and fashion front-and-center at the FashionTECH Runway Show. The show will also feature technology leaders and entrepreneurs on the catwalk in the latest styles provided by participating brands and e-retailers.
- Techweek Grand Tour (GT) – This event will provide attendees with an interactive tour of the most innovative office spaces in Kansas City. The GT is a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with local executives and learn how company culture is enhanced.
