TEDx Bethesda Women Event Brings in Big Names, Big Ideas
Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- One day, 12 speakers and countless ideas worth spreading. TEDx Bethesda Women comes to Imagination Stage on December 5, 2013, bringing with it the spirit of the renowned TED conference and TED Talks series. (A billion online views can’t be wrong.) At this first-of-a kind day-long event, a dozen groundbreaking thinkers will give the talks of their lives--in 18 minutes or less.
The line up is a Who’s Who of DC area leaders with shared goals: to move attendees with visionary concepts and inspire them with an intellectual adventure. Among the distinguished speakers scheduled to take the stage are military pilot, celebrated author and inspirational speaker Vernice Armour; CNN news anchor and foreign affairs correspondent Jill Dougherty; WebMD lifestyle expert Dr. Pamela Peeke; musical theater veteran Kate Campbell Stevenson; professional storyteller Ellouise Schoettler, and seven other driven, articulate and noteworthy women.
TEDx Bethesda Women was organized by Jane O. Smith, a communications specialist, image coach, and breast cancer survivor who describes herself as “sassy, lively and spirited.” It was Smith’s desire to bring to Bethesda a lineup of “talents, struggles, lessons learned and bodacious risks,” that led to the creation of Tedx Bethesda Women. She promises that the day will be enlightening, thought provoking and even full of a few surprises. It’s also an opportunity to mingle, network, share ideas and have access to view some of the live sessions coming from the national TEDWomen event being held at the same time in San Francisco.
On The Marc Media, a Rockville, Maryland-based public relations, social media and video production firm is generously sponsoring the event by creating the TedxBethesdaWomen website and designing and implementing a social media and marketing campaign in order to spread the word and create excitement in the community.
Tickets for TEDx Bethesda Women can be purchased here. The ticket price includes the full day of presentations, refreshments and lunch. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Imagination Stage's scholarship program and each presentation will be individually videotaped and uploaded to TED.com and YouTube.com and a Google Hang-Out will be held to launch the videos in the community.
