Austen is using ProSBC in multiple ways:
- To facilitate inbound remote IP-phone access, and to manage the NAT (Network Address Translation) traversal, a common issue with small office and remote users.
- Two additional ProSBC instances are working on the back end, to manage multiple inbound and outbound SIP Trunk providers. Austen dedicates one virtualized SBC for inbound DID traffic routing and a second SBC manages outbound traffic, making configuration and performance measurements easier.
Austen’s cloud-based system currently serves a number of schools in Texas, California, Illinois and Florida. They also service a number of police stations, city/municipal customers and enterprise customers. In the near future, Austen foresees a roughly five-fold growth in the number of phone and access lines.
