Telematics Berlin: European Commission discuss a pan European Automotive Security Strategy

(PRWEB) April 27, 2015 -- Telematics Berlin is Europe’s biggest Automotive Data event, bringing together automakers, tier 1&2 suppliers, associations, CE players and the government to discuss the opportunities and threats that big data has opened to the car. This year’s panel on connected car security with Gerhard Menzel, Policy Officer at DG-Move at the European Commission, is an opportunity to hear and contribute towards the debate which will inform and define a European Automotive Security Standard for years to come.

Alongside Gerhard Menzel will be Mike Parris, Head of Security at SBD, who have been researching and working extensively in automotive security for a number of years, and Gene Carter, Director of Product Management at Security Innovation, who are one of the first companies to specialise in application & product security.

Head of Global Operations at TU-Automotive, Gareth Ragg, described the security panel as “a really exciting panel that we’re all looking forward to over here at TU. The speakers all have completely different angles too, so it’ll be fascinating to see whether they can agree on a European Security Standard.”
