Recognition across independent competitions, different expressions, and consecutive years demonstrates a consistent standard of craftsmanship
JALISCO, Mexico, Nov. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Following a landmark 2025 which saw it named Best of Class Tequila by San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Volcan de mi Tierra has earned four major new spirits honors from The Tasting Alliance in 2026, including two Best of Class titles, a Platinum Award, and the Triple Still Award. Across expressions, independent judging panels, and consecutive years, these honors reinforce a singular standard of quality and craftsmanship throughout the brand's portfolio, making Volcan the Best Rated Tequila since 2025 in these competitions.
One of the most significant honors is the Platinum Award for Volcan X.A. This distinction requires an expression to receive Double Gold over three consecutive years. With more than 6,000 spirits judged since 2024, only 49 brands have demonstrated the excellence required to earn this award. Of those 49 Platinum recipients, only four were tequila brands. Volcan X.A. now represents the only reposado to achieve this distinction.
Volcan Blanco earned the prestigious Triple Still Award, an honor reserved for spirits that achieve Double Gold recognition at three separate competitions within a single year. In 2026, Volcan Blanco achieved this honor with Double Gold wins at the Latin America World Spirits Competition (LAWSC), San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), and New York World Spirits Competition (NYWSC). The consistency of these results, achieved through blind tastings by three independent and distinct judging panels, speaks to the precision, quality, and craftsmanship that define Volcan Blanco. Awarded to just 10 brands since 2023, the Triple Still Award has been achieved by only three tequila brands. Among them, Volcan stands alone as the sole tequila recognized for a blanco expression, and the only brand across all spirits categories to have earned the honor more than once.
Rounding out the brand's 2026 honors, the NYWSC awarded Best of Class Reposado to Volcan X.A. and Best of Class Añejo to Volcan Colección Gavilana I. These wins follow Volcan's Best in Class Blanco and Best in Class Tequila at the 2025 SFWSC.
While each award recognizes a different achievement, together they demonstrate a powerful point: consistency is the ultimate proof of craft. For Volcan, these results provide independent validation of a production philosophy built on precision, thoughtful decisions, and sustained quality.
"When we created Volcan, our ambition was to craft exceptional tequilas," says Volcan de mi Tierra CEO and Co-Founder Santiago Cortina Gallardo. "The first step was to craft our own tequilas—we are single NOM. That enables us to craft exceptional and unique qualities. Seeing our expressions recognized at the highest level, year after year, is particularly meaningful because it validates that our bet on quality was the right one."
Achieving consistency is especially challenging in craft production, where variations in weather, agave maturation, fermentation, and distillation influence the composition of the finished spirit, as each batch is a new (re)creation. Moreover, each Volcan expression requires a distinctive approach, from the selection and preparation of agave to the many decisions that shape its final character.
"No two agave harvests are exactly alike, which means craftsmanship is more than reimagining the same tequila with fresh new ingredients," says Marcelino Lucke, Master Tequilero at Volcan de mi Tierra. "It requires understanding the variables behind every stage of production and making the right decisions to deliver exceptional quality, consistently. That is where craftsmanship becomes mastery."
