Terra Dotta Names Higher Education Travel Risk Expert Elaine Del Rossi as Vice President, Risk Solutions
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (PRWEB) April 23, 2019 -- Terra Dotta, the trusted leader in higher education travel risk management, study abroad and international programs management solutions, today announced that it has named Elaine Del Rossi as Vice President, Risk Solutions. Del Rossi is responsible for the go-to-market strategy of Travel Registry, Terra Dotta’s comprehensive risk and duty of care solution.
“We are excited to welcome Elaine to the Terra Dotta team – her proven track record and passion for higher education duty of care could not be a better fit for providing Terra Dotta’s robust Travel Registry offerings to institutions worldwide,” said Cheryl Boeckman, senior vice president of global sales for Terra Dotta. “We look forward to utilizing Elaine’s deep expertise in advising client institutions on best practices leveraging our technology-driven risk mitigation strategies for students, faculty and staff traveling globally.”
Del Rossi previously served as Chief Sales/Client Experience Officer at Geo Blue, formerly HTH Worldwide – a travel medical and international health insurance provider – where she spent nearly 20 years overseeing sales, customer service, global health and safety and building the student division into an $80 million entity. Prior to Geo Blue, Del Rossi was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at HealthAxis Group, an IT solutions provider for healthcare payers.
“From the time a student registers for a study abroad program to the moment he or she arrives home safely, Terra Dotta’s risk solutions can help support the entire duty of care process for universities, said Del Rossi. “I’m thrilled to be able to help more institutions establish a stronger risk management strategy through Terra Dotta, by connecting travel registry information with systems that contain critical traveler data – from study abroad enrollment and insurance to travel expenses and HR information.”
At the upcoming NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference on May 30, Del Rossi will lead the Impact of Technology on University International Travel Policies panel including a discussion on the process of creating and updating institutional international travel policies. Panel attendees will include risk professionals from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, California State University at Dominguez Hills and the University of Michigan.
Terra Dotta’s Travel Registry solutions help institutions confirm the location of all faculty, staff and independently traveling students by easily capturing their travel details via forms or emailed itineraries. Additional risk mitigation capabilities include customized questionnaires, sharing pre-departure waivers and content prior to high-risk or specialized travel scenarios, refined workflows based on each traveler’s destination and role, as well as customized travel approval processes that align with and automate institutions’ travel approval policies. These features enable institutions to confirm proper pre-trip information sharing and approval protocols based on traveler destinations, activities, roles (i.e., student, faculty, staff) and other critical risk factors.
Travel Registry includes Terra Dotta’s AlertTraveler™ mobile app for proactively alerting university-affiliated travelers when a local or regional emergency situation arises such as a natural disaster, incidents involving violence or a health epidemic. Institutions can proactively confirm travelers’ locations via the app as it automatically pulls in itinerary information and employs GPS technology to determine which students are locally impacted. University personnel can then use push notifications, email and SMS text messaging to connect directly with affected travelers with safety instructions and resources as well as initiate a safety “check in” on the app.
