Next Testosterone Lawsuit Conference in Federal Litigation Scheduled for December 8th, Bernstein Liebhard LLP Reports
New York, New York (PRWEB) November 01, 2014 -- The federal court overseeing hundreds of testosterone lawsuits (http://www.testosteronelawsuithub.com/) that allege drugs like AndroGel, Testim and Axiron caused patients to suffer serious cardiovascular injuries will convene the litigation’s next Case Management Conference on December 8th, 2014. According to the Court’s Calendar, the Conference will begin at 1:30 p.m. before U.S. District Judge Matthew F. Kennelly of the Northern District of Illinois. (In re: Testosterone Replacement Therapy Product Liability Litigation - MDL No. 2545)
“Throughout the past year, our Firm has received regular inquiries from men who allegedly suffered serious heart problems due to their use of low testosterone therapy. We are pleased to see the federal testosterone lawsuits progressing, and will continue to closely monitor this litigation,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is now offering free testosterone lawsuit reviews to victims of heart attacks, strokes, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and other life-threatening heart problems that were allegedly caused by prescription testosterone medications.
Testosterone Litigation
According to court documents, product liability claims have been mounting against the manufacturers of AndroGel and other low testosterone therapies since January, when the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it was investigating the possible cardiovascular risks associated with the drugs. More than 220 testosterone lawsuits are now pending in the Northern District of Illinois, all of which claim manufacturers of testosterone replacement drugs failed to provide doctors and patients with adequate warnings about their heart risks.
In September, the FDA convened a panel of outside advisors to further examine the cardiovascular side effects that may be linked to low testosterone therapy. The panel voted overwhelmingly to recommend that the labeling for the medications be revised to make clear they have not been shown to lessen low libido, fatigue, muscle loss and other symptoms commonly experienced by men as they age. They also voted by the same margin to recommend that the FDA order the manufacturers of low testosterone therapy to conduct safety studies aimed at better understanding their heart risks.*
Men who allegedly experienced life-threatening cardiovascular events due to their use of testosterone replacement medications may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering and more.
