Full-Time Online School Celebrates More Than 900 Graduates
HOUSTON, July 7, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Texas Connections Academy, a tuition-free, full-time online public school for students in grades 3-12 across the state, celebrated the graduation of more than 900 seniors recently at the NRG Arena in Houston. The Class of 2023 collectively earned more than $4 million in scholarships and awards.
"These students have accomplished so much and we cannot wait to see what is next," said Candace Ayala, high school principal for Texas Connections Academy. "Just as every student came to Texas Connections Academy for their own reasons, each student has their own path ahead of them. Our goal is to best prepare them for the next step in their journey."
Among the 2023 graduating class, more than 50 percent plan to attend two- or four-year colleges or universities including Texas A&M, Baylor University, Rice University, Ball State, New York University and University of California, Davis. Additionally, some graduates intend to enter the workforce directly upon graduation or attend vocational training programs, while others have plans to join the military, take a gap year or pursue other opportunities.
Texas Connections Academy offers learning plans that are flexible and can be tailored to match a child's needs and abilities. Texas Connections Academy's state-certified teachers work hard to foster meaningful connections by providing individualized student attention and a positive, engaging learning environment. Students have regular opportunities to share ideas, compare experiences and have fun learning with their peers through online classroom sessions. The school also offers field study events throughout the state, allowing students to meet and learn together.
