Thanks to Family and Friends Outreach, the Holidays are $500 Brighter for Two New Lake Trust Credit Union Members Who Score Big in Membership Effort
Lake Trust Credit Union announces winners of $500 each in special campaign where new members were referred by friends or family who have existing Lake Trust accounts.
BRIGHTON, Mich., Dec. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Lake Trust Credit Union announced that Melissa Satti of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Bejone Mixon of Auburn Hills, Michigan, were the winners of $500 each in a random drawing of those who opened new memberships after being referred by friends or family in the Credit Union's recent campaign. Ms. Satti and Mr. Mixon will receive the prize as a cash deposit to their respective accounts.
From October 1 through November 30, 2018, Lake Trust offered existing members $20 for each referral up to five in total that resulted in a new membership being approved and opened. New members meeting the eligibility requirements including living, working, worshiping or attending school in any of the Michigan counties Lake Trust serves were automatically entered in the drawing for $500.

The membership campaign provided an additional educational opportunity regarding the significant benefits of being a Lake Trust member, the value that credit unions contribute to the community and Lake Trust's expanding business capabilities. During this same time period, Lake Trust announced that its members, social media followers and the general public selected as its Giving Tuesday winner Ele's Place, which has four locations in Michigan. The non-profit community-based organization dedicated to creating awareness of and support for grieving children and their families received an $8,929 donation.
"We earmarked one penny from every debit and credit card transaction including online and in-store purchases occurring between Black Friday and Cyber Monday this November for Giving Tuesday," Kile added. "We issue debit cards at account opening, so many of our new members were eligible to contribute in this Lake Trust tradition. We're happy this holiday season to do our part in spreading some seasonal cheer in different ways."
