Part of The Agency's Continued New York City Expansion, Gottlieb and The Gottlieb Team Bring More Than $209.5 Million in Signed Contracts and Closed Sales Since January 1, 2025
NEW YORK, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Agency, the global luxury real estate brokerage founded by Mauricio Umansky, today announced Geoffrey Gottlieb one of New York City's most accomplished and trusted real estate professionals, and The Gottlieb Team as part of the recent addition of the Agency offices behind Ilija Pavlovic, growing the firm's presence across the New York tri-state market with over 1,000 agents across 20+ offices in the region.
Gottlieb has closed more than 400 sales since beginning his real estate career in 2012. In 2025, he was ranked the #1 individual agent in New York City for both sales volume and sales transactions for StreetEasy Experts. The Gottlieb Team was ranked #1 for both sales volume and sales transactions for StreetEasy Experts Medium Size Teams in 2024 and 2025.
The Gottlieb Team closed $117,976,572 in sales in 2025 and has surpassed $91,600,000 in signed and closed sales so far in 2026. Together, those figures represent more than $209,500,000 in signed contracts and closed sales since January 1, 2025 alone. In 2023, Gottlieb was one of three nominees for the Real Estate Board of New York's Residential Agent of the Year selected from approximately 12,000 members.
For Gottlieb, however, sales volume tells only part of the story. He has built his business around providing candid financial advice, identifying genuine value and achieving the strongest possible financial outcome for every client.
"Real estate is one of the largest financial decisions most people will ever make, and the numbers matter," Gottlieb said. "I provide my clients with listings, access and extensive knowledge of buildings and inventory, but that is only the beginning of my value. My greatest value is sourcing the right opportunities, analyzing what a property is actually worth, identifying leverage, structuring the transaction and negotiating every financial component of the deal. When I represent a buyer, my job is to protect their capital and secure the best achievable acquisition price and terms. When I represent a seller, my job is to maximize their net proceeds."
A recent acquisition at 111 West 57th Street demonstrates that approach at the highest level of the New York luxury market. Gottlieb represented the buyer of the full floor Residence 35 at the landmark Billionaires' Row tower, who purchased the 4,492 square foot residence for $16,150,000 in June 2025.
The identical full floor Residence 36, one floor above, subsequently closed for $18,000,000. Gottlieb's client acquired Residence 35 for $1,850,000 less, approximately 10.3 percent below the price paid for Residence 36. Based on all recorded sales in the building to date, Residence 35 remains the lowest priced closing for any residence on the 35th floor or above at 111 West 57th Street.
The buyer said: "Geoffrey was an absolute pleasure to work with. He quickly understood exactly the profile that we were looking for and showed us highly relevant homes that fell within our buy box. As a professional real estate investor, I'm normally averse to using agents on the purchase side of a transaction, but Geoffrey's tenacity, connectivity, and market color were incredibly helpful and convinced me to work through him as opposed to going direct. During the heat of the contract negotiation stage, Geoffrey was extremely helpful in being able to convincingly convey our position to the seller's representatives and bridge differences. He is extremely responsive - available literally around the clock - and effective. Couldn't recommend him more highly."
Gottlieb has delivered similarly strong acquisition results in other sectors of the Manhattan market. At 393 West End Avenue, he represented the buyer of Apartment 3H, which closed at $1,457 per square foot, the lowest price per square foot ever recorded in the building and the only closing below $1,503 per square foot.
"I am proud of every closing, not because I focus on the number of transactions I complete, but because I focus on achieving the best possible result for each client," Gottlieb said. "These outcomes result from rigorous analysis, a clear understanding of value and disciplined negotiation. The clearest measure of my value is the money I save or make for my clients."
