A total of 400 volunteers from National Agents Alliance (aka The Alliance) and Foresters Financial™ will team up with Feed The Hunger with the goal of preparing 120,000 meals during a "Pack-A-Thon" at The Lamb's Chapel airport campus on Thursday, July 18 at 1:30 p.m.
BURLINGTON, N.C., July 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A total of 400 volunteers from National Agents Alliance (aka The Alliance) and Foresters Financial™ will team up with Feed The Hunger with the goal of preparing 120,000 meals during a "Pack-A-Thon" at The Lamb's Chapel airport campus on Thursday, July 18 at 1:30 p.m.
The effort will provide nutritious meals to feed children and families in Alamance County and beyond. The 120,000 meals will set a single-shift record for Feed The Hunger and will surpass the 114,000-plus meals The Alliance and Foresters packed in July of 2017.
Andy Albright, President and CEO of National Agents Alliance, said providing meals for those in need was one way to fulfill the "Make A Difference" part of his company's motto to "Have Fun, Make Money and Make A Difference."
"We love giving back to our community in Alamance County and beyond with the help of our friends at Foresters and Feed The Hunger," Albright said. "We are proud that this 'Pack-A-Thon' will allow us to set a new record again. We love that Foresters is helping make this happen with us. It is a great example of how The Alliance and Foresters share a vision for helping people."
During the event, volunteers were split up into teams and put together food packets. Each nutritious meal consists of four ingredients – dehydrated vegetables, a scoop of pinto beans, vitamin powder and rice. These ingredients, which together provide complete nutrition, are packaged in six-serving meal packets that are then weighed, sealed, and boxed.
Each year, The Alliance and Foresters Financial hold a "Delivering the Difference" event prior to one of NAA's national events. This year, The Alliance's "Family Reunion," is taking place on July 18-21. The Alliance has volunteered at Pack-A-Thons for Feed the Hunger during the past decade, and this year, Feed the Hunger was selected as the Delivering the Difference beneficiary.
"Foresters Financial has always been guided by our purpose, which is to protect families while helping improve their lives and communities," said Matt Berman, Chief Distribution Officer, Foresters Financial. "The Alliance shares this purpose, and we feel privileged to work with them to support everyday families."
In 2018, The Alliance and Foresters collaborated with the United Service Organizations (USO). for a "Military Support Mission," which provided 50 boxes of "goodies" to be sent to our troops abroad. In addition, participants assembled 300 hygiene kits for the local USO.
Albright said supporting local organizations like Feed the Hunger is part of The Alliance's mission. In two short hours of volunteering, Albright believes the impact from this event will be massive.
The Alliance and Foresters Financial have a rich history of giving back to local families and communities. Previously, Delivering the Difference events supported organizations like the American Red Cross™, the Boys & Girls Club, KaBOOM! and other support efforts. In addition, volunteers have given back through school refurbishing projects around the world.

ABOUT FEED THE HUNGER
Feed the Hunger is a Christian mission organization that helps people in spiritual and physical need. We have a particular emphasis on connecting with Christian leaders seeking to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16–20). Feed the Hunger equips these leaders to feed spiritual hunger with tools like Bibles, community centers/church buildings, bicycles, and micro-enterprise projects. Physical hunger is met through the provision of nutritious food, clean water, and emergency aid and relief. You can impact the lives of the hungry here in America and around the world by participating in food packing events called Packathons (everyone is welcome to participate!), going on a domestic or overseas mission trip, and investing resources.
