NEW MARKET, Md., March 8, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Goddard School®, the leading premium childcare provider in the U.S., officially opened its New Market, MD location on Feb. 28, to better serve Frederick County families seeking care for their young children. As early childhood education continues to play a pivotal role in the lives of parents and their children, The Goddard School opened in New Market to provide parents with a high-quality option for childcare that's conveniently located near their homes.
Located at 10310 Silverside Street, and along U.S. Route 70, the play-based learning experience offered at The Goddard School of New Market uses the most current, academically endorsed methods in early childhood education to ensure that children are learning the skills they need to be successful in school and in life. This is a place where children can explore and discover music and art, learn how to communicate using sign language and develop problem solving skills through games, such as chess. More importantly, a targeted curriculum focused on social-emotional development teaches children how to be kind to themselves and to others.
Owner Marisha Leber understands the important role a high-quality early childhood education in a safe and nurturing setting plays in a young child's life. In 2009, she began teaching at The Goddard School's Urbana location and quickly realized the value of the education program while working alongside its owners, John and Jill Pelicano. The Pelicanos are also co-owners of The Goddard School of New Market.
"All three of my children attended The Goddard School, and I've seen the benefits that Goddard's curriculum has had on their developmental and social skills," Leber said. "Goddard is the premier choice for early childhood education, and when the opportunity to open a school presented itself, my husband and I couldn't pass it up." Having lived in Frederick for more than 10 years, the Lebers are committed to providing a warm and nurturing environment with an age-appropriate, fun, play-based curriculum. Leber continued, "We value what Goddard brings to the local community and families that attend, and we are excited to share that with the New Market community."
The 11,000-square-foot Goddard School is equipped with nine classrooms to serve 125 infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children. The School has added 17 jobs to the local community and will be adding more teaching jobs as the school grows.
The Goddard School of New Market was designed with a mountain and wilderness concept to emphasize the local natural environments, including Lake Linganore, Sugarloaf Mountain and Catoctin Mountains. The School boasts a large indoor gym with a rock wall for children to play indoors as well as an expansive outdoor play area on either side of the school. Additionally, the School has the latest in security and sanitization technologies to maintain a healthy and safe environment.
With its official opening, The Goddard School of New Market joins more than 570 franchised locations in 38 states. The School is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m.to 6 p.m.
