HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Harvard Lampoon is going Hollywood. Now celebrating its 150th anniversary, the legendary humor magazine is taking on Tinseltown with a special parody issue produced in partnership with The Hollywood Reporter. Featuring a beautiful—and bionic—Marilyn Monroe on the cover, the issue is now available in print and online at thehollywoodrepordurrr.com. The collaboration marks The Lampoon's second-ever parody issue actually sanctioned by the publication being parodied; the first was in 2008 with National Geographic.

"Just a few months ago, when Lampoon staff sat down to discuss our next project, it was clear: we were out of ideas, desperate and creatively bankrupt. Naturally, Hollywood came to mind," said Kai Nelson, President, The Harvard Lampoon. "We cold-emailed Hollywood Reporter editor Julian Sancton, a Lampoon alum, and pitched a joint parody issue. Inexplicably, they said yes."
"When The Lampoon reached out, I was excited by their pitch and the vision they brought to the table. As a proud Lampoon alum who still feels deeply connected to the publication, I figured this was a unique opportunity to bring together two worlds that have shaped my career," said Julian Sancton, Senior Features Editor, The Hollywood Reporter. "As it turns out, this was a much better idea in theory than in practice and, in retrospect, I'm not sure how proud I am of being an alum."
The Lampoon carries a legacy that helped pave the way for Saturday Night Live, Animal House, The Simpsons and multiple generations of American comedy. Notable alumni include Conan O'Brien, B.J. Novak and Colin Jost.
