Opens Funding Opportunities for Investors and Latino Founders in Proptech and Fintech
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 7, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Hispanic Wealth Project™ (HWP) and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP®) today announced the launch of The Hispanic Wealth Project Angel Community aimed at providing capital for start-up ventures in PropTech and FinTech.
According to Bain & Co., less than 1 percent of venture capital and private equity investor funding goes to Latino-owned businesses. Access to capital is critical to helping companies achieve scale. The HWP Angel Community will support Latino-led start-ups and provide investment opportunities for its members who are qualified investors that predominantly come from the Hispanic business community.
"The HWP is able to leverage NAHREP's capacity to catalyze start-ups with its extensive network of real estate professionals and its connections to the highest levels of the real estate and mortgage industries," said Gary Acosta, NAHREP Co-Founder & CEO, and General Partner of L'ATTITUDE Ventures.
Selected companies will be invited to participate in a live pitch for a chance to secure funding from HWP Angel Community members. Companies must be submitted by established investors, VC funds, or other Angel communities. Founders or co-founders are not eligible to submit their own companies for consideration.
