The Journal of Pain Research, a Dove Press Publication, Becomes Official American Society of Pain & Neuroscience Journal
An affiliation agreement between the Journal of Pain Research, a Dove Press publication, and one of fastest-growing medical societies, the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience, has recently been agreed.
NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- An affiliation agreement between the Journal of Pain Research and one of fastest-growing medical societies, the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience, has recently been agreed.
An international, peer-reviewed, open access, online journal that publishes laboratory and clinical findings in the fields of pain research and the prevention and management of pain, the Journal of Pain Research will now become the official publication for The American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN).
The society is dedicated to advancement in the fields of Pain and Neuroscience. All initiatives of ASPN are dedicated to improving patient outcomes, education, research, and innovation.
Therefore, Co-Founder and President of ASPN, Dawood Sayed M.D stated that he was delighted with the new agreement, which represents a perfect partnership.
"I am incredibly excited that the Journal of Pain Research has become the official journal of ASPN," said Dawood, who created the society in 2018 alongside Dr Tim Deer.
"One of the guiding principles of ASPN is to improve the field with quality science and evidence. Partnering with JPR and publishing science in an open access platform for widespread dissemination is vital to our mission statement."
A Dove Press publication, the Journal of Pain Research will continue to publish high-quality, peer-reviewed original research, reviews, symposium reports, hypothesis formation and commentaries are all considered for publication.
And Dawood added that the quality of articles published under the directorship of Editor-in-Chief, Michael Schatman, was why this journal, in particular, was chosen to represent ASPN.
"The impact of the Journal of Pain Research in our field under Michael Schatman has been exceptional. I look forward to continuing the forward progress of the journal as an Associate Editor in Chief and establishing it as the premier journal in the field of pain and neuroscience," he added.
Dr Schatman, a clinical psychologist who has spent the past 30 years working in multidisciplinary chronic pain management, said: "I'm excited by the affiliation of ASPN, as their membership includes many of the top pain scientists in the world. Their desire to publish much of their work in the Journal of Pain Research will result in further advancement of the overall quality of the journal."
