The latest viral addictive mobile app, THE ICE CUBE GAME features top 2020 easter egg memes from President Trump to Black Lives Matter. The premise: Throw Ice cubes into glasses. Is this the mobile game craze of 2020?
VERNON, Conn., July 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The latest addictive mobile app, THE ICE CUBE GAME, is a highly addictive iPhone game reminiscent of the hype surrounding the 2009 game Angry Birds. The premise of the app is to throw ice cubes into various sized glasses with puzzles hidden throughout.
The app was developed by one designer, Dan Iannicelli with the help of the game creation software Gamesalad. GameSalad Creator is used by consumers and creative professionals such as graphic designers, animators, and game developers for rapidly prototyping, building and self-publishing cross-platform games and interactive media.
The ICE CUBE GAME has a novel idea included throughout the game. Hidden in the background are popular memes hidden as Easter Eggs to find. Memes from the last year of 2020 are shown throughout the game almost as a type of time capsule for the crazy year we have had so far.
Hidden images of popular figures such as divisive President Donald Trump and inventor Elon Musk appear alongside other levels which feature a nod to Kobe Bryant and a statement about the Black Lives Matter movement. Other memes from 'Karen' to 'Murder Hornets' and 'Tiger King' are also included. There is even a hidden code embedded in the app for the Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy meme joke, "Epstein didn't kill himself."
"Some of the levels are serious and some are jokes. The memes really encapsulate the recent history of 2020. Any other notable events that happen this year might be added in an update. But at the end of the year the memes will be permanent. Like a time capsule for 2020." the developer stated.
Some players and Twitter users have questioned the order of the levels as disrespectful. For example, Donald Trump meme levels appear before the Black Lives Matter nod.
In response to this, "I think it's ridiculous to infer that one level is disrespectful because it appears in front of another level. I tried to make the game a blend of what I find funny and what has happened in this crazy pandemic year of 2020. The memes are just a bonus. The gameplay is the most important part."
This has not stopped players from boycotting the app because of the potentially divisive content. As the developer says, "Download the app and see what you think, it's free."
The free app is currently available on the Apple iOS App Store for iPhone. Versions of the app for the iPad, Android devices, and Amazon Fire devices will be released over the next few months. Simply search for 'The Ice Cube Game' on the iOS app store to download the game for free.
