The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin sponsored Band Together NC 2019, a fundraising concert event held on June 1 at the Red Hat Amphitheater. Proceeds went to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Band Together's nonprofit partner for 2019.
RALEIGH, N.C., June 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin was among the many sponsors of Band Together NC, a local nonprofit organization that uses live music as a platform for social change. Every year, the organization hosts a concert to raise money for a local nonprofit partner. The 2019 partner was Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
Band Together's mission to assist local nonprofit organizations closely aligns with the James Scott Farrin mission and culture of giving back to the community. Ticket sales, donations, and corporate sponsorships from the event directly supported the Food Shuttle's new Child Food Hub. "The Hub" is a 7,000 sq. ft. facility located in Durham, NC, aimed at increasing the impact of the Food Shuttle's Child Hunger Programs throughout North Carolina.
Tara Williams, an attorney-shareholder at James Scott Farrin, and head of the firm's Social Service Committee, said, "We are proud to support Band Together to raise funds for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle in its mission to fight child hunger with the creation of the Child Food Hub."
Inter-Faith Food Shuttle saves nearly 6 million pounds of healthy food from being thrown away every year (35% of distributed food is fresh produce) and gives it to people in need in North Carolina. The organization also teaches classes on healthy and affordable meal preparation in order to fight hunger in the state.
This year, the headliner for the Band Together NC live music event was St. Paul & The Broken Bones, with Grammy Award-winning band, Toots and the Maytals, as the opening act.
