WAYZATA, Minn., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The NAPCP, a professional association serving the Commercial Card and Payments industry since 1999, will host a Commercial Card educational workshop on Tuesday, October 23 - Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the Twenty Toronto Street Conferences and Events Center, in Toronto, Ontario.
"Commercial Card Program Management—Beyond the Basics," is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge of Commercial Card professionals. A step beyond the basics, the agenda will focus on the administration and management of an established P-Card and/or Travel Card program and the related best practices. The workshop, attendees will participate in an interactive presentation, as well as open discussion around program challenges and successes. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas and will leave with the tools necessary to advance programs.
This comprehensive course is recommended for individuals who are familiar with the mechanics and benefits of Commercial Cards, but are seeking to broaden their understanding of P-Card and/or Travel Card program management; or are pursuing Certified Purchasing Card Professional (CPCP) certification and could benefit from a broad presentation on program management best practices.
Workshop agenda items include:
- Essential elements of the Commercial Card infrastructure and how to evaluate for improvement opportunities, including commonly overlooked best practices
- Key program metrics to help evaluate and benchmark a P-Card program
- Possible actions to take as a result of Commercial Card report analysis
- How to conduct a Commercial Card program risk analysis
- Program controls that might have been overlooked
- Auditing tips and why current auditing approach might allow some cardholders to go unnoticed
- How to diversify training and communications for optimal effectiveness
- Ways to raise organization awareness of the card program and encourage card usage
The course will be led by Heather Miller, CPCP, MBA, NAPCP Community Engagement Manager. Before joining the NAPCP in 2017, Heather managed the card program for the University of Phoenix, serving as a primary resource to over 4,000 cardholders—creating, managing, and auditing card and travel policies. As the NAPCP's Community Engagement Manager, Heather collaborates with other members and subscribers to create best practices for card programs within the U.S., Canada and EMEA region.
