NEW YORK, Jan. 29, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (NYCDA) today proudly announced the recipients of its second annual "Your Start in the Arts" grant awards. The New York Conservatory's grant program honors and supports secondary high school educators in drama and theater who have inspired students to follow their passion for the art of storytelling through acting.
"We are thrilled to announce the recipients of this year's The New York Conservatory's 'Your Start in the Arts' grant awards," said Richard Omar, president and artistic director at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. "This year we received nearly 700 grant submissions from schools across the country who more often than not struggle to fund their theater and performing arts programs due to dwindling or altogether eliminated financial support. We are proud and grateful to be able to honor these outstanding high school teachers and drama departments that continue to make a difference for students pursuing their passion for the dramatic arts. The New York Conservatory wishes them continued success in nurturing their department goals."
