The Maritime Documentation Center expedites Certificate of Documentation Paperwork for those in the Commercial Fishing Industry.
LOS ANGELES, May 18, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Maritime Documentation Center, a site that helps vessel owners to acquire and maintain a Certificate of Documentation among other documents, has, in recent months, seen an increase in requests from vessel owners in and around the state of North Carolina. This coincides with the opening of commercial flounder fishing season.
According to The Coastland Times, "the 2023 (Atlantic flounder commercial fishing) season opened at 12:01 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2023." Additionally, "the fishery will close by proclamation once 80% of the annual North Carolina quota is reached, or at 6 PM on Thursday, August 31s, 2023, whichever occurs first."
Vessels that measure more than five net tons and are wholly owned by American citizens that engage in commercial fishing activities on the navigable waters of the United States or in the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) must be registered with the Coast Guard. According to the Code of Federal Regulations, "a fishery endorsement entitles a vessel to land its catch, wherever caught, in the United States."
"We designed our vessel documentation site to be able to help vessel owners from all walks of life. Whether our clients have enormous corporate commercial fishing operations that span the globe, or they run a tight, small ship on their own, our goal has always been to make the vessel documentation easier and more efficient. We're proud to support so many commercial fishing professionals season after season," said Jackson Smith of the Maritime Documentation Center.
The Maritime Documentation Center offers vessel documentation services for those who engage in transporting people and/or merchandise on American waters as well as those who wish to use their vessel exclusively for recreation.
