PHOENIX, Oct. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Origins Project Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce it has been granted tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. As an official nonprofit public charity, contributions donated to The Origins Project Foundation are fully tax-deductible.
Lawrence M. Krauss, president of the foundation, stated how significant achieving this milestone is for the goals of the organization: "Ever since we formed and announced the existence and mission of the foundation, there has been a tremendous outpouring of good-will expressed by the public. Now that individuals and organizations can support the foundation with tax deductible contributions we hope to quickly build sufficient support to move into high gear to fully address our educational goals of inspiring and informing the public about the key issues in science and culture that will affect us all in the 21st century. Having tax-exempt status will now bring us much closer to realizing our goals."
The Origins Project Foundation exists to inspire and inform through stimulating and ground-breaking public events and travel excursions bringing guests together with some of the world's most interesting thought leaders from around the globe. The expertise of our participants and the subjects they will discuss will range over the full expanse of human intellectual inquiry – from fundamental questions about the universe and humanity to issues at the intersection of popular culture and science. The global excursions we organize will allow access to people, areas and projects normally beyond the reach of the general public.
"We have already organized two exciting travel experiences for 2020, and we are eager to coordinate our first series of major public events in Phoenix, Arizona and beyond," says Krauss.
The first travel adventure of The Origins Project Foundation is set for January 2020 along the Mekong River from Cambodia to Vietnam, with special guest speakers Richard Dawkins, Richard Somerville, and foundation president Lawrence M. Krauss.
With its new ability to access and utilize funds for its educational mission, the foundation can now offer a limited number of Origins Project Foundation Travel Scholarships for students and teachers to join the Mekong River Cruise in January. Students and teachers who are interested in participating in this travel adventure and interacting with our guest speakers at a significantly discounted rate should complete the Travel Request Form on the foundation's website at https://originsprojectfoundation.org.
Plans are already underway for the next travel experience in Iceland and Greenland for September to October 2020, with details forthcoming. Interested members of the public are encouraged to go to the foundation website to join the mailing list to be among the first to hear when registration for this expedition opens up, and to take advantage of special early bird pricing that will be offered.
