Dr. Johnson is a fellowship-trained shoulder specialist who has provided care in the Treasure Valley since 2014 and, alongside his team, brings a wealth of experience and training to Idaho and the Treasure Valley.

Dr. Johnson is a board certified, fellowship trained, orthopedic surgeon and fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He earned his medical degree from Cornell Medical College in New York City. At graduation he was awarded the T. Campbell Thompson Award for excellence in orthopedic surgery by the faculty of the Hospital for Special Surgery, the oldest orthopedic hospital in the United States. He then completed his residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California where he served as a chief resident. As a resident he was elected to the AOA-OREF Resident Leadership Forum and as a UCLA research fellow he received awards for his work involving the biochemistry of bone regeneration.
Following residency, he completed a fellowship at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado where he was trained in complex shoulder surgery. While in Vail he served as a team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams. He has also been a team physician for Rocky Mountain High School, the Idaho Stampede, Idaho Steelheads and Stampede Rodeo.
