The SIP Forum Announces STIR/SHAKEN-Focused Conference Agenda for SIPNOC 2019

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., Sept. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The SIP Forum has announced its conference agenda for the ninth annual SIP Network Operators Conference (SIPNOC 2019), to be held December 3-5, 2019 at the Hilton Washington Dulles Hotel in Herndon, VA. The three-day event will feature presentations and panels from leading communications industry professionals and the experts responsible for the development of the STIR/SHAKEN Framework - the leading technical specification designed to eliminate the scourge of Robocalls and Caller ID Spoofing - in a cooperative environment aimed at sharing information and best practices regarding the deployment of STIR/SHAKEN in carrier networks.
The SIP Forum, together with the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), formed the Network to Network Interface (NNI) Joint Task Force to address unwanted and illegal Robocalls and Caller ID Spoofing, and develop standards to verify and authenticate caller identification for calls using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The outcome of this effort has been the SHAKEN Call Authentication Framework.

In addition, SIPNOC 2019 will also explore the ramifications of a number of legislative actions taking place in the United States Congress.
