Guckert is presenting at the following:
- International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association's (IBTTA): On Tuesday, September 17, Guckert will present during the (IBTTA) 87th Annual Meeting & Exhibition, taking place in Nova Scotia, Canada. This is IBTTA's largest event of the year, bringing experts together from around the world. During his presentation, he will focus on the ever-increasing traffic congestion that plagues nearly every city around the globe, and what strategies can be employed to help manage, and in some cases reduce, traffic. Congestion management helps curb the world's traffic issues, which eats into our global economy, quality of life, and environmental health.
- Urban Land Institute (ULI): On Wednesday, September 18, Guckert will be a member of a panel of experts discussing the Public Buildings Reform Board (PBRB), which was established to identify surplus federal properties currently vacant or underused. Currently 30% of federally owned buildings are underused and cost taxpayers $1.7 billion annually. Other panelists include: Dan Mathews, General Services Administration; Chris Roth, JLL; and moderator David Winstead, Ballard Spahr.
With more than 40 years industry experience, Guckert is a recognized and well-respected expert in the field of traffic engineering, and transportation planning. Guckert has played a major role in over 8,000 projects spanning both urban and suburban areas throughout the United States, as well as internationally.
A Fellow with the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Guckert is a frequent speaker on a variety of transportation-related topics, including congestion management, and automated vehicles. Guckert is a member of the Texas A&M Transportation Technology Advisory Council, whose purpose is to advise Texas A&M Engineering on automated transportation research; RELLIS Campus development for transportation technology research and testing; and Texas A&M Campus Transportation Technology Initiative deployment. He is also Immediate Past Chair of the Urban Land Institute's (ULI) Public Development Infrastructure Council (PDIC) and a Harvard University Lecturer.
In addition to his upcoming presentations at IBTTA and ULI, he has also presented at a NAIOP conference in which he keynoted, spoke at the International Council of Shopping Center's (ICSC) RECon and CenterBuild on multiple occasions, the Intelligent Transportation Society's (ITS) ITS America, ITE's Annual Meeting, and the National Parking Association's (NPA) Convention & Expo.
