LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Wake of Light is a romantic drama about a young woman (Rome Brooks) slowly losing hope caring for her aging father and their broken-down farm who meets a charismatic young man (Matt Bush) on a cross-country road trip, who falls for her and asks her to join him on his journey. In confronting the heart-rending choice to leave her father, Mary is forced to confront the real issue keeping her from having a life of her own.
"I'm truly thankful for the incredible reception the film has received so far. Audiences and juries have been so supportive of the film and to receive all the positive correspondence from people who have seen the film during our festival run has been especially rewarding," said Renji Philip.
The film is now available for pre-sale via streaming or limited edition dvd with special features (including the complete soundtrack of piano music by Josh Kramer, commentary by Renji Philip and lead actress, Rome Brooks and a map of the film's incredible shooting locations) on the film's official website at https://www.thewakeoflightmovie.com.
With The Wake of Light, writer-director-producer Renji Philip has done the impossible. He's crafted a film about the timely topic of caring for an aging parent, while simultaneously interweaving themes of spiritual longing, overcoming fear and embracing hope, with gorgeous cinematography by Cinematographer Rainer Lipski and emotive piano music by lauded composer/performer Josh Kramer that makes the spirit soar. The character of Mary is both tender-hearted and sympathetic yet ultimately strong and quietly courageous. She embodies the inspiring character traits of a new kind of female hero that deeply resonates with today's film audiences.
