The AACUC Announces 2019- 2020 Executive Committee and Two New Board Members Adrian S. Johnson Reappointed as Chairman of the Board
The African-American Credit Union Coalition elected the Executive Committee for 2019 - 2020 immediately after their 21st Annual Conference that was held in Charlotte, North Carolina, August 7-10, 2019.
ATLANTA, Aug. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC), Board of Directors elected Adrian S. Johnson, Senior Vice President/CFO at MECU Credit Union, Baltimore, MD as Chairman for another term. Larry D. Sewell, VP Corporate Partnerships & Advocacy, Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union, has been elected as Vice Chairman. Ed Presnell, Regional Business Executive at Peach State FCU of Administration for SRP FCU has been elected as Treasurer and to complete the Executive Committee appointments, Lynette W. Smith, President/CEO of TruEnergy FCU remains the Board Secretary. The other board members are: Timothy L. Anderson, Interim President/CEO of United States Senate FCU, Priscilla Awkard, VP of the Teller Center at Coastal Credit Union, Tracey Jackson, CFO of Delaware State Police FCU, Maurice Smith, CEO of Local Government FCU and Civic FCU, and Marvin York, VP, Contact Center Member Engagement at PSCU.

To wrap up the week, AACUC honored Maurice Smith, CEO of Local Government FCU and Civic FCU, with the Pete Crear Lifetime Achievement Award, inducted Sandra DeVoe Bland, Chairwoman of the Board at SRP FCU, Janet McDonald, Retired Sr. Sales Manager at CUNA Mutual Group, Joan Nelson, Chairwoman of the Board at Coastal Credit Union and Ed Presnell, Regional Business Executive at Peach State FCU into the AACUC's African American Credit Union Hall of Fame.
Adrian S. Johnson is a graduate of University of Baltimore with a BS in Accounting. He received his MBA in Business Administration from Loyola University in MD. He is a CUES Certified Chief Executive (CCE). He is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at MECU of Baltimore, Inc. He currently oversees a newly formed Financial Wellness Department and Accounting/Finance which includes Accounting, Liquidity Management, Balance Sheet Management, and a Fixed Income Bond Portfolio. Johnson previously served as the Chairman of the AACUC Reaching Toward the Future Internship Program. He is also a founding member of the AACUC Eastern Regional Chapter. Mr. Johnson is very passionate about the long-term sustainability of the AACUC and will be directing the organization's fundraising efforts to focus on foundational giving.
