The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Named 2013 ACE Award Winner in Social Media Category
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 23, 2013 -- Ragan Communications and PR Daily, producers of the prestigious ACE awards (Awarding Communication Excellence), has named The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) winner of the 2013 Award for its effort in changing perceptions of the plastic surgery industry using social media. The ACE Award honors individuals, agencies and in-house teams who have used communication to overcome obstacles.
“What impressed us about the communications team at ASAPS is how it uses social media to change perceptions about the aesthetic plastic surgery industry,” said Tyler Landry, Award Programs Manager at Ragan Communications. “The public has historically viewed aesthetic plastic surgery quite skeptically, but the ASAPS team employs Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and its blog to share information about plastic surgery so patients can make informed decisions. We congratulate the team for its effort in changing perceptions of the plastic surgery industry.”
“The ACE 2013 Award is a testament of the Aesthetic Society’s continued effort to serve the public by providing accurate and timely information regarding aesthetic (cosmetic) plastic surgery and promoting patient safety,” said Dr. Jack Fisher, President of the Aesthetic Society. “I am delighted that these new methods of communications are being used to promote patient safety and the importance of seeking out a surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.”
