The Cambridge Foundation Awards the Foundation for Financial Planning $50,000
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- The Foundation for Financial Planning announced today The Cambridge Foundation will contribute $50,000 to support the expansion of pro bono financial planning activities in support of the Foundation’s 20th anniversary of supporting pro bono financial planning.
“The Cambridge Foundation is pleased to provide the Foundation for Financial Planning this grant in support of their efforts providing pro bono financial planning to underserved communities,” said Jerry Oliver, The Cambridge Foundation President and Treasurer. “We are happy to support this cause in keeping with the Foundation’s mission of being a valued member of our extended community by adding to its quality of life economically and culturally.”
The Foundation for Financial Planning is the only organization dedicated solely to supporting the delivery of pro bono financial planning to underserved communities. “While we have supported the delivery of financial planning to more than 350,000 underserved people, we know there are millions more who could benefit. The Cambridge Foundation’s recognition of the need and support with the organization’s efforts is deeply appreciated,” said Bernie Clark, Foundation Chair.
The Foundation’s 20 years of supporting pro bono financial planning would not have been possible without the support of over 14,000 industry supporters and many financial services companies. These contributors have made it possible for the Foundation to provide over $5.7 million in grants nationally to community-based organizations that work with the underserved, which includes active military, veterans, domestic abuse survivors, first time homeowners and many others.
With generous industry support, the Foundation has built an endowment of $20 million and has a five-year goal to raise an additional $5 million. Reaching the five-year goal is important and will help the expansion of pro bono financial planning through increased grant making, which will position the Foundation to give up to $1 million of grants annually to nonprofit organizations.
