The Clark Mansion at 327 W 76th Street is Restored to Its Former Glory
NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 10, 2019 -- Located at 327 West 76th street, the 8,000 square foot, seven-bedroom, single-family mansion once belonged to Clark and was recently transformed by Interior Marketing Group (IMG), the largest luxury real estate design and marketing firm in the United States.
Clark, best known for his dedication to improving the UWS in the late 1800s, once lived in the Riverside Drive mansion, and the recent renovation retained much of the character present in the original home. The house boasts relined wood-burning fireplaces with carved mantelpieces, ceiling medallions, moldings, parquet floors, several ionic columns, a grand oak central atrium stairway, and more recently, a new elevator. IMG took on the redesign and sought to incorporate a feeling of modern luxury into the home, using neutrals and custom pieces that both complemented and updated home’s historic details and architecture.
“The Clark Mansion is a one-of-a-kind slice of the Upper West Side and it was important to work with a designer that could marry contemporary design with the mansion’s grand history,” said Wolf Jakubowski, Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker for Brown Harris Stevens and listing agent for the townhome.
The 22” width of the mansion and its distinctive architecture required custom fabrication in nearly every room; custom drapes in the great room curve to meet with the architectural detail of the rotunda bay window and a large, bespoke coffee table in the library. In addition, IMG designed a one-of-a-kind glass dining table that was large enough to expand the whole dining room.
“Great design is about honoring the architecture of a space,” said Cheryl Eisen, Founder & President of Interior Marketing Group. “This home has so much rich history and it was a pleasure to help accentuate its beauty and bring it to market with Wolf,” she continued.
Working closely with the homeowner, IMG managed to transform the interiors of the Clark Mansion and restore the home to its former glory. The strikingly, redesigned home also features a penthouse floor with terraces, an outdoor hot tub, and more views of the Hudson River. It has now returned to the market for $12.9 million.
