The Coupon Bureau Joins Conexxus to Further Digital Offers Standardization

The Coupon Bureau is joining Conexxus Digital Offers Working Group, which is designed to identify and develop standards for the exchange of data needed in the digital offers ecosystem.

Conexxus, in association with The Coupon Bureau, today announced that Brandi Johnson has been elected to chair the Conexxus Digital Offers Working Group. Conexxus is the industry organization that is responsible for retail fuel and convenience store standards and technology, and the purpose of the working group is to identify and develop standards for the exchange of data needed in the digital offers ecosystem.

The standardization of CPG coupon data and its subsequent handling at c-stores will not only bring more CPG trade dollars to the ecosystem but will also make it easier for consumers to redeem offers. With CPGs spending over $250 billion dollars promoting their products annually, and consolidated inside sales for the roughly 153,000 U.S. convenience stores at almost $252B annually, this standardization will help shift more promotional budgets to the c-store realm.

“We in the coupon industry understand the shifting retail landscape and the significant role that C-store plays in the CPG economy. As The Coupon Bureau, a non profit industry-managed organization, works to standardize CPG offer data, we are working to make that data available via API to any retailer, regardless of store format,” said Brandi Johnson, CEO of The Coupon Bureau and Chair of the Digital Offers Working Group at Conexxus.

Conexxus is a nonprofit, member-driven technology organization dedicated to the development and implementation of standards, technologies innovation and advocacy for the convenience store and retail fueling market.


The Coupon Bureau is a nonprofit, industry managed organization that is responsible for developing and maintaining the Universal Positive Offer File for manufacturer offer promotions.
