The Delray Recovery Center Hosts "Moment of Change" Workshop
Delray Beach, FL (PRWEB) September 07, 2013 -- The Delray Recovery Center’s Clinical Director Sarah Gentry, LMHC, CAP, will be presenting a workshop at the upcoming Moments of Change Conference, an event that underscores the pivotal point in recovery where people’s lives are transformed and healing can begin.
The conference runs from Sept. 23 to 26 at The Breakers Palm Beach, located at 1 South County Road, and Gentry’s presentation is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 in the facility’s Ponce de Leon Ballroom I.
Clinical Director Gentry’s workshop is entitled “Fuel Your Passion: Empowering Treatment Professionals,” and the main focus of this interactive presentation is on the ideas of passion and motivation. The workshop’s goal is to encourage workshop participants to connect with their passion in a meaningful way in order to motivate both themselves and their team along a single path of action for their clients.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to talk to clinicians about what inspires them to help others. We do not talk enough about the passion that drives us in this field, it's a topic that deserves our attention as leaders,” said Gentry.
With a focus on effective leadership, the workshop will outline innovative techniques that treatment professionals can use to transform their team of workers into a team of leaders. When those techniques are employed, the leaders become able to move beyond limitations and barriers that may have stunted treatment effectiveness in the past.
The goal is for each workshop participant to leave the session with the ability to demonstrate three techniques that help create leaders. They will also be able to describe conditions necessary to energize and attract people toward development of their passions while recognizing conditions and barriers that can result in disengagement and loss of excitement.
As The Delray Recovery Center’s Clinical Director, Gentry develops individualized treatment plans that help clients effectively move through the center’s 5 phase step-down continuum of care.
Gentry is a frequent guest speaker at nationwide conferences and has more than 10 years’ experience treating chemical dependency, trauma, dual diagnosis and eating disorders.
