The Experiences App Merges the Best of Shopify and Zoom for Virtual Experience Success

The Seattle based tech company finds a new way forward for businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic

Experiences users with a Zoom account will be able to make their event a “Zoom Experience,” creating one time or recurring virtual events and offering them in their Shopify store.

The team at Experiences is excited to announce a new integration with Zoom to schedule, register, and manage online meetings and webinars efficiently and securely. With this new Zoom integration feature, Experiences app users will be able to create and manage virtual tours, classes, and events all within their Shopify stores.

Experiences is the booking and ticketing app for Shopify merchants that makes event management simple. The app’s full integration allows business owners to organize and schedule their events all from their Shopify store. The Experiences team is building tools for successful experience economy adoption, allowing merchants the freedom to host events without the organizational stress.

In March, the Seattle based company watched as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the globe, forcing businesses everywhere to close their doors and cancel their events for the foreseeable future. Business owners all over the globe began adapting their events to virtual spaces, hosting classes and tours through video conferences.

Founder and CEO, Mark Sandeno knew that his was another detail that the Experiences App was perfectly suited to champion and quickly incorporated video conferencing into their app’s offerings, “We have the technology to incorporate everything into one place so it’s not all on the merchant to keep track of yet another detail,” says Sandeno. “You can now offer virtual ‘Zoom Experiences’ without thinking twice about it.”

  • Hosting options allowing for meetings and webinars
  • The choice to preset Zoom meeting preferences for waiting room, joining, and recording
  • Create standing, scheduled events with saved preferences per experience type
  • Optional guest registration information forms
  • Auto reminders for upcoming events with links to the Zoom meetings for guests
  • Easy host access to meetings and webinars from the Shopify app

Along with these features, this Zoom integration also has security advantages. “We noticed merchants were using the same URL for all of their events, making it easy for an unregistered or unpaid guest to access future events. Our app automatically creates unique Zoom URLs for each individual experience, adding additional security for the merchant and their customers,” Sandeno commented.

The integration comes at a critical time as businesses face uncertainty as to when distancing restrictions will lift. It is also an opportunity for business owners to expand their customer base even after restrictions are lifted. By offering more experience options, merchants will be able to extend their reach outside of their physical retail spaces and bring more guests into the experiences that make these businesses unique.

The new Zoom Experience feature will be available starting on July 2, 2020.
