The Fine Art of Children's Literature: A Gallery Show. Enjoy the Work of Local Illustrators and Authors
The Fine Art of Children's Literature Gallery show will be fun for the entire family. The show runs from October 5th until November 22nd. The opening night party will take place from 6-9 pm on Saturday, October 5th in the gallery space of HJ's Community Center.
KANSAS CITY, Miss., Oct. 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Featuring over 15 different illustrators and illustration styles, The Fine Art of Children's Literature Gallery show will be fun for the entire family. Organized by the local chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), this gallery show is an opportunity for regional illustrators to showcase their art outside of the pages of picture books.

The show will take place at HJ's Community Center and Gallery Space in the Brookside neighborhood (6425 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, Mo 64113) and will run from October 5th, 2019 until November 22nd, 2019.
The opening night party will take place from 6-9pm on Saturday, October 5th in the gallery space. The public of all ages is welcome.
On Saturday, November 16th from 1-4 pm the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators will be hosting a Book Fair featuring local authors and illustrators such as Ann Ingalls, Alastair Heim, Elizabeth Baddeley, and Charlie Mylie. This will be fun for all ages and will include author readings and signings, illustrator signing and crafts as well as games, snacks and sweets.

The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, is the only professional organization specifically for individuals who write and illustrate for children and young adults. Our mission is to support the creation and availability of quality children's books in every region of the world.
Through our awards, events, and publications, we give established writers and illustrators the tools and resources to manage their careers, as well as educate those just starting out. SCBWI is also proud to serve as a consolidated voice for our members within the publishing industry.
