The Fine Arts Company Welcomes Local Artists for Special Events This Winter
Hagerstown, MD (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- The Fine Arts Company is pleased to announce several free in-store events for the remainder of January and February. Located at 18031 Garland Groh Boulevard, The Fine Arts Company offers a variety of handmade in America fine, wearable and functional art in addition to hosting special events including Painting Parties and free artist exhibits and demonstrations. In the coming weeks, visitors to the store will have the opportunity to meet several artists from Hagerstown, Maryland and the surrounding area in a series of interactive demonstrations.
On Saturday, January 25 from 12-3pm, local woodcarver Kathleen Weibel will return to The Fine Arts Company for her second carving demonstration. Weibel is a well-known local artist who works closely with cabinet and furniture makers, and recently had a carving in a multi-million dollar kitchen featured on HGTV’s “Ten Most Amazing Kitchens.” Closing out the month on January 31 from 6-8pm is the opening night of a special week-long exhibit of digital photography by Monika Wertman of Wertman Photography. Meet the photographer and enjoy complimentary refreshments during this Friday evening event, or stop in later in the week to see the exhibit.
February begins with a visit from Callie Badorrek of Monster Hollow Studios on February 8 from 4-7pm. Known for her animal and gargoyle sculptures, Badorrek will be demonstrating the creation of one of her signature pieces, as chosen by fans of The Fine Arts Company on Facebook. On February 21 from 6-8pm, meet local painter Tia Skopek, who along with Monika Wertman (whose exhibit is in January) is also an instructor for The Fine Arts Company’s Painting Parties. On February 22 from 2-4pm, visit with Oak Hill Interior Design and learn tips and tricks to make any home beautiful.
“The Fine Arts Company is all about art, so what better way to get our customers involved in art than to give them the opportunity to experience it firsthand?” says Katie Rock, Events Coordinator at The Fine Arts Company.
