Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 20, 2015 -- The Global Strategic Foresight Community of the World Economic Forum invited forward-looking thought leaders and senior practitioners from leading public, private and civil society organizations to provide insights about their perspectives on “global shifts”. These views will be “added to the agendas of the World Economic Forum and relevant organizations to inspire constructive action for the future,” says Kristel Van der Elst of the World Economic Forum. The purpose of the Global Strategic Foresight Community is to provide a peer network to compare and contrast insights as well as to positively shape future-related industry, regional and global agendas.
The statement by Jerome Glenn, CEO of the Millennium Project focused on the coming Age of Conscious-Technology “A new kind of civilization is likely to emerge from the convergence of two mega-trends: humans becoming cyborgs and our built environment becoming conscious with the incorporation of artificial intelligence,” says Glenn. “The Millennium Project has created the Global Futures Intelligence System to help humanity think together in an organized research-based way to prevent potential negatives of such a future and develop the positive elements.”
Other “global shifts” contributed by the Community members include new approaches to global security, new “deals” for addressing sustainable development and climate change issues, demographic shifts, technological advancements and their economic and social implications as the nature and relations of work change.
