Small and Large Industry Representatives Help IIC Members Embrace IIoT

The newly elected Steering Committee members are experts in their respective industries, and I look forward to the continued contributions they will make as we work together to accelerate the adoption of IIoT around the globe.

The Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC™), the world’s leading organization transforming business and society by accelerating the adoption of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), today announced the results of its Steering Committee officer election.

Newly re-elected Steering Committee officers who will serve another two-year term are:

  •     Stan Schneider, CEO of Real-Time Innovations (RTI)
  •     Jacques Durand, Director of Standards and Engineering, Fujitsu North America, Inc.

Dr. Schneider, CEO of RTI, will represent IIC small company members as the small industry representative on the Steering Committee and serves as Vice Chair of the Steering Committee, a post he was elected to earlier this year. RTI has been a member of IIC since its first year and heavily engaged. RTI is a co-lead on three IIC testbeds, several RTI employees serve as a chair on working groups and have co-authored and contributed to IIC foundational documents and whitepapers.

Mr. Durand, director of standards and engineering at Fujitsu North America will represent IIC large company members as the large industry representative on the Steering Committee. He has been a member of IIC since its first year and has been an active participant, serving as chair of the business strategy and solutions lifecycle (BSSL) WG, chair of the Knowledge Management Task Force, and IIC liaison officer to the Industry Value Chain Initiative in Japan.

“At the IIC, we have both large and small technology vendors, academics, government organizations and IIoT technology end-users as member organizations,” said Dirk Slama, Chair of the IIC Steering Committee and Vice President of Business Development, Bosch Software Innovations. “The newly elected Steering Committee members are experts in their respective industries, and I look forward to the continued contributions they will make as we work together to accelerate the adoption of IIoT around the globe.”

“I believe strongly in the immense opportunity of smart, connected machines that form the IIoT,” said Dr. Schneider. “The IIC has tremendous influence for small businesses and I’m excited to work with them to realize opportunities in the IIoT through the IIC.”

“The IIC is the global IIoT hub that federates the vast number of IIoT efforts around the world, brings consistency in practices & architectures, and clarifies the market,” said Mr. Durand. “I’m looking forward to continuing my work with IIC members on IIoT architectures and best practices that help drive the ecosystem forward.”

The Steering Committee member organizations include representatives from ABB, Bosch, Dell EMC, Fujitsu, GE, Huawei, IBM, MITRE, Real-Time Innovations (RTI) and SAP as well as IIC Executive Director Dr. Richard Soley.
