WASHINGTON (PRWEB) February 03, 2020
The LEAD1 Association (“LEAD1”), which represents the athletics directors of the 130-member schools of the Football Bowl Subdivision (“FBS”), announced today that the 2020 LEAD1 Institute will be held on June 29th-July 1st at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
Now in its 21st year, the Institute serves as the premier professional development program designed to help senior athletics administrators prepare to become the next generation of athletics directors. Nominated participants will learn from veteran athletics directors who serve as faculty for the program and network with the hiring executives from the top executive search firms.
The LEAD1 Institute will again award various scholarships to those who demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in college athletics administration. The first ever Deborah A. Yow Scholarship will be given to a female senior administrator who strives to continue Debbie’s legacy as a trailblazer in the industry. The Association will also continue its tradition of awarding numerous scholarships to minority candidates who demonstrate the characteristics of someone next in line for the athletics director chair.
“We look forward to producing another class of the nation’s top athletics administrators at this year’s Institute,” said Tom McMillen, President and CEO of LEAD1. “These individuals will have an opportunity to gather insight and network from a number of leaders in our industry to further build upon their careers and develop valuable relationships. We are grateful to Jack Swarbrick, Missy Conboy, and the rest of the Fighting Irish staff for their enthusiasm in hosting the Institute this summer.”
