The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books Features the Fun of Taiwan Travel
(PRWEB) April 27, 2017 -- Held on April 22nd - 23rd, 2017 at USC, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is the largest book festival in the country, with over 150,000 participants each year. The Taiwan Tourism Bureau had booths set up this year to promote Taiwan tourism and interacted with visitors of all ages as one of the most popular exhibitors at this free entry family event.
At the four colorfully decorated booths, the Tourism Bureau showcased Taiwan’s rich tourism resources through interactive games. In line with the theme of ecotourism, Taiwan booths gave away a limited number of colored sand air plant ornaments. There are five different varieties of colors representing five highlighted attractions of Taiwan: blue for the famous “Blue Tears” in Matsu; orange for the delicious “Irwin Mango” in Tainan; white for the stunning marble gorge of the Taroko National Park; purple for the refreshing “Cactus Sorbet” in Penghu; and green for the emerald waters and natural scenery of Sun Moon Lake. Visitors were encouraged to get hands-on to create their own unique souvenirs and bring home a token of the island’s beauty. Another exciting game to play was Taiwan Shock Maze which introduced visitors to the Taiwan tourism calendar with events like the world-renowned Taiwan Lantern Festival in spring, the Taiwan Culinary Exhibition in summer, the Taiwan Cycling Festival in fall, and the Hot Spring Fine Cuisine Carnival in winter. Limited editions of mystery gifts were awarded to the game winners by the Tourism Bureau during this two-day book festival.
Besides all kinds of interesting activities, the kids’ beloved Super Task Force Director, Oh!Bear showed up as an eco-narrator! Our partner, SITA World Tours also came to the festival to offer discounted tour package deals. Taiwanese gourmet restaurant Pine & Crane and The Bleu House gave out coupons of specially prepared hors d’oeuvres and beverages to visitors, so they could get a taste of Taiwanese cuisine in Los Angeles.
