Rallyware’s research was focused on bridging the gap between performance enablement tools and productivity growth to help companies with large distributed workforces boost their teams’ performance.

Productivity hinges on each individual’s engagement in the right activity at the right time

Rallyware, a Performance Enablement Platform provider, has released its 2019 white paper, exploring the most effective productivity growth strategies to help companies build an effective performance management system aimed at their distributed teams.

The white paper entitled The New Science of Distributed Workforce Productivity Growth covers the research that analyzed five performance improvement tools to identify which ones contributed most to workforce productivity growth. The research was based on the use cases of global companies with 500+ workers, where participants were divided into distinctive cohorts to test five tools and their combinations to develop the most effective performance improvement solution.

“From years of experience, we know that incremental growth in productivity is only possible when people have a clear understanding of how, when, and what they’re supposed to do to complete a goal,” says George Elfond, CEO at Rallyware. “Our objective has always been to develop a deep understanding of which technologies impact performance most and to ensure seamless integration of these technologies into daily operations.”

The following key findings are detailed in the white paper:

The most effective productivity solution includes a combination of learning, business application, timing, and social engagement. This performance improvement strategy increased distributed workforce productivity by 38% within the first three months of implementation.

The implementation of learning alone increased workforce productivity by 8% while learning combined with social engagement led to only a 6% increase in productivity. This fact has led to the conclusion that the social element can be distracting for learners if paired with learning alone.

The white paper illustrates ways the productivity growth solution – a Performance Enablement Platform – proved to work with a number of companies with large distributed workforces, leading to a steady increase in productivity.

The productivity growth of distributed teams is a direct consequence of how well performance management tools are integrated into the workflows to ensure that every single person follows their own personalized path to success aligned with the business KPIs from their very first minute with the company.

“At the end of the day, productivity hinges on each individual’s engagement in the right activity at the right time. With data-driven performance management tools that support people on every step of their growth journey, companies can foster a high-performing culture by triggering such personalized activities for each individual,” concludes George Elfond.
