The NPD Group Debuts U.S. Kids License Tracker
PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (PRWEB) April 18, 2018 -- Global information company The NPD Group today announced the launch of its U.S. Kids License Tracker, a service providing a holistic view of licensed purchases in the U.S. spanning 17 industries, for kids ages 14 and under.
This suite of consumer insights explores how license spending and purchase behavior varies across the following industries: apps and in-app purchases; arts and crafts; baby gear; books; clothing; consumer electronics/accessories; DVD/Blu-ray and digital (movies, television shows); fashion accessories; footwear; heath/beauty products; home products (excluding furniture); party supplies/costumes; school supplies; sporting goods; toys/puzzles; and video game hardware, software, and accessories.
Additional insights showcased in the service include but are not limited to purchase methods and occasions, pricing, items both purchased and requested, and demographic profiles of both the buyers and children. Monthly data will be aggregated and released on a quarterly basis. Fourth quarter 2017 data is available today.
“NPD’s new service will provide our clients with a complete view of the kids licensing market and key insights to help retailers and licensors identify new opportunities,” said Joanne Hageman, President of NPD’s Entertainment sector. “The cross-industry coverage enables clients to refine their license’s positioning, become more strategic in their marketing and product development efforts, and guide their efforts towards understanding what is most important to their target audience.”
NPD is the leader in syndicated tracking services across more than 20 industries, and also offers a host of other data sources and solutions, as well as industry expertise to give clients a winning advantage. These additional measures include Checkout, which delivers the most comprehensive view of consumer purchase behavior for general merchandise categories, across all retailers over time, as well as custom and analytic solutions and advisory services designed to help clients better understand markets and customers.
“License” is defined by a cartoon, game, movie or fictional character, famous personality or group (band or celebrity), or sports team.
